Although the bulk of my work is abstract and messy and edible, I have a range of charcoal drawings which are mainly figures. A large large passion of mine is ballet and dance in general. Having not entered a ballet studio in years, I have been forced to give that side of me an outlet. Drawing dancers has been an amazing experience, in that making beautiful delicate lines with your body is such a surreal occassion that drawing somebody making those lines is kind of living vicariously through those images. Not only is drawing beautiful lines an experience in itself, but to know how it feels to make those lines with your body is double the expression. There is a larger body of work that connect with this particular drawing. All charcoal and all on paper.
